TIB KAT 718 – Bismuth/zinc neodecanoate for polyurethane applications
TIB KAT 718 is a commonly used bismuth/zinc co-catalyst for polyurethane systems. The use of neodecanoic acid as a ligand ensures high compatibility with numerous PU formulations. The characteristic reactivity is due to both metal components, which exert different catalytic effects on the overall reaction.
On request, TIB KAT 718 can be supplied with variable bismuth/zinc ratios. The product is also suitable as a replacement for DBTL (TIB KAT 218) in certain PU systems.
TIB KAT 718 is particularly suitable for curing reactions at elevated temperatures. The catalyst is soluble in common solvents for polyurethane systems; checking the solution stability is recommended.
The typical application amount is 0.01–0.1% by weight.
