TIB KAT 436

TIB KAT 436 (dibutyltin oxide + plasticizer) is a liquid variant of dibutyltin oxide (DBTO) with a phthalate-based plasticizer.

It contains 50% active tin compared to the solid version TIB KAT 248 and is used as a homogeneous tin catalyst in a wide range of applications:

Applications:

• Silicone systems: RTV adhesives & sealants (acetoxy-, ethoxy-, oxime-based), SMPs, PEX
• Polyurethane systems: Adhesives, sealants, elastomers

Properties:

• High reactivity thanks to liquid form and small ligand
• Catalyzes silanol/silane condensation reactions → polymerization & crosslinking
• Selective for polyol-isocyanate and water-isocyanate reactions
• Hydrolytically stable at typical humidity levels, but sensitive to high humidity
