TIB KAT 435 (Dibutyltin Oxide + Plasticizer) is a liquid variant of dibutyltin oxide (DBTO) with a non-phthalate-based plasticizer.
It contains 35% active tin compared to the solid version TIB KAT 248 and is used as a homogeneous tin catalyst in a wide range of silicone applications, including:
- RTV adhesives and sealants (acetoxy-, ethoxy-, oxime-based)
- Silane-crosslinked polyethylene (PEX)
- Silan-modified polymers (SMP), e.g., MS Polymer®
Properties:
- High reactivity thanks to liquid form, small ligand, and good raw material compatibility
- Catalyzes silanol/silane condensation reactions → polymerization & crosslinking
- Hydrolytically stable against condensation-induced moisture
