TIB KAT 425 – Liquid dioctyltin oxide catalyst for silicone and silane systems

TIB KAT 425 is a liquid catalyst based on a dioctyltin oxide formulation and is used in a wide range of silicone-based applications.

TIB KAT 425 is particularly suitable for curing:

  • 1-component MS silyl systems
  • alkoxy-based RTV silicones
  • oxime-based RTV silicones

Properties & advantages

  • Acts reliably as a polymerization and crosslinking catalyst
  • Offers good hydrolytic stability under typical humidity conditions
  • Due to its octyl-based structure, it exhibits improved moisture resistance compared to comparable butyl-based tin catalysts such as TIB KAT 437 and TIB KAT 438
  • The silane contained acts as a non-reactive diluent, leaving the catalyst efficiency unchanged

Handling

  • Stability may decrease at elevated humidity → risk of hydrolysis
  • Keep contact with moisture to a minimum
