TIB KAT 424 – Liquid dibutyltin oxide + plasticizer for silicone and silane systems

TIB KAT 424 (dibutyltin oxide + plasticizer) is a liquid version of dibutyltin oxide (DBTO) with a phthalate-based plasticizer. The product contains 50% of the active tin content of the solid variant TIB KAT 248.

Areas of application

TIB KAT 424 is used as a catalyst for:

• Curing of silicones
• Silan crosslinking systems
• especially 1-component MS silyl polymer systems

TIB KAT 424 is one of the highly reactive catalysts for silicone systems.

Like other tin-based catalysts, TIB KAT 424 catalyzes the silanol/silane condensation reaction and simultaneously acts as:

• Polymerization catalyst
• Crosslinking catalyst

In addition, TIB KAT 424 exhibits higher hydrolytic stability, especially against condensation-induced moisture.
