TIB KAT 423 – Liquid dioctyltin oxide catalyst for silicone and silane systems
TIB KAT 423 is a liquid catalyst blend based on a dioctyltin oxide formulation. The product is primarily used for the curing of silicones and silane-terminated polymer systems.
TIB KAT 423 is particularly suitable for:
- 1-component MS/STP systems
- Curing of alkoxy-based RTV silicones
Properties & handling
Like other tin-based catalysts, TIB KAT 423 catalyzes silanol/silane condensation and acts as a polymerization and crosslinking catalyst.
However, the product is sensitive to moisture:
- Avoid contact with moisture as much as possible
- Hydrolysis may occur at high humidity
- This leads to lowering flash points
