TIB KAT 316 (dioctyltin bis-(2-ethylhexyl mercaptoacetate), DOTE) is an octyl-based organotin catalyst with sulfur functionality.

It offers the typical reactivity of an Sn(IV) organotin with improved delay and hydrolytic stability.

Applications:

  • Mainly for polyurethane systems
  • Ideal for adhesives, elastomers, and foam applications with sufficient exotherm
  • Suitable for coatings in oven-cured systems, not for ambient cure

Properties:

  • Sulfur ligand acts as a blocker → thermal deblocking required
  • Not active in silicone or esterification applications
  • Not available in Europe
