TIB KAT 232 – Dioctyltin Oxide (DOTO) for esterification, transesterification & polycondensation

TIB KAT 232 is an amorphous, solid dialkylated organotin catalyst that is mainly used as an esterification catalyst. With a high tin content (~32%) and an oxide ligand, TIB KAT 232 offers both high reactivity and excellent temperature stability.

The product is supplied as a solid as standard, but can also be produced as a stable liquid formulation, e.g., with plasticizers or silanes.

TIB KAT 232 is used for:

• Esterification and transesterification reactions
• Polycondensation processes
• Production of polyester and alkyd resins

Additional properties

• Better toxicological properties than its dibutyl-based counterpart TIB KAT 248
• High thermal stability → ideal for applications at rising temperatures
• Very good reactivity thanks to oxide ligand and high metal content

Depending on the application, the recommended dosage is 0.01–0.5% by weight.
