TIB KAT 620
Product information
TIB KAT 620 – Zinc octoate for polyurethane systems
TIB KAT 620, also known as zinc ethylhexanoate, is a widely used zinc catalyst for polyurethane applications.
By using 2-ethylhexanoic acid as a ligand, the product offers good compatibility with numerous PU formulations. A related product is TIB KAT 616, a zinc carboxylate based on neodecanoic acid.
Compared to organotin catalysts, TIB KAT 620 exhibits lower activity, resulting in extended pot life in 2-component systems. The catalyst is particularly suitable for curing reactions at elevated temperatures and for aromatic isocyanate systems.
The recommended dosage is 0.02–1.0% by weight, based on the total formulation.
TIB KAT 620 and its components are registered on numerous international regulatory lists, including US TSCA, EU REACH, and Canadian DSL, making it ideal for multinational formulation development.
In addition, the product is also available in bismuth-zinc blends, e.g., TIB KAT 717.
