TIB KAT 340 – Dimethyltin Dilauryl Mercaptide for PU and Silicone Catalysis

TIB KAT 340 (dimethyltin dilauryl mercaptide), also known as bis(dodecylthio)dimethylstannane, is a methyl-based Sn(IV) organotin catalyst that is mainly used as a homogeneous catalyst for polyurethanes and silicones.

The high reactivity of the product results from the low steric hindrance of the methyl group and the high tin content. Compared to classic metal carboxylates, TIB KAT 340 offers more controlled reactivity, as the sulfur-containing ligand influences the reaction behavior.

The recommended dosage is 0.01–1% by weight.
