Students at Mannheim Technical University HSMA
Practical insights into the chemical industry, engaging conversations with experienced professionals, and a look behind the scenes at modern production facilities: We were delighted to recently welcome a group of students from the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences (HSMA) to our plant. The visit gave these future professionals the opportunity to experience industrial processes and technologies up close and gain valuable real-world insights.
The exchange between universities and companies is of great importance for the training of future professionals. That is why we at TIB Chemicals are happy to support events and visits that combine theory and practice. The visit by the students from the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences is a successful example of how young talent can gain early insights into the diverse career fields of the chemical industry.
After a welcome on our plant grounds, the visit began with a detailed safety briefing. Safety is a top priority at TIB Chemicals and forms the foundation for all activities at our production sites. During the briefing, the students received important information about the safety standards, rules of conduct, and protective measures required when visiting industrial facilities.
The plant tour then took the participants through various areas of our company. Together with our colleagues Sebastian Mühl and Frank Rensch, the students gained a comprehensive insight into our multi-metal chemical plant. There, they learned how modern chemical processes are controlled and monitored and what role innovative technologies play in the manufacture of chemical products.
Another highlight of the visit was the tour of our sulfuric acid plant. The production of sulfuric acid is one of the most important industrial processes in the chemical industry and offers numerous interesting points of interest for students of engineering and natural sciences. On site, the participants were able to see how complex production processes are organized and what measures are implemented to ensure energy efficiency, process safety, and sustainability.
Next on the agenda was a visit to our central wastewater treatment plant. This area impressively demonstrated the importance of environmental protection and resource conservation in a modern chemical company. The students gained insights into the treatment and purification of industrial wastewater, as well as the measures that contribute to compliance with high environmental standards. Topics such as sustainability, the circular economy, and the responsible use of natural resources were central to the discussion.
The successful morning was rounded off with a group lunch in our company cafeteria. In a relaxed atmosphere, there was an opportunity for personal conversations, questions about day-to-day work in the chemical industry, and discussions about coursework, career paths, and professional prospects.
For TIB Chemicals, visits to universities and educational institutions are an important part of fostering the next generation of talent. Direct dialogue with students enables us to inspire young talent to pursue technical careers and join the chemical industry, while also establishing valuable contacts with the potential professionals of tomorrow.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the students at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences for their interest and for visiting our plant. We would also like to thank the colleagues who made this visit possible and supported it with great dedication. We are already looking forward to future field trips, exciting discussions, and further opportunities to provide insights into the world of TIB Chemicals.
