Local Green Deal Mannheim
Our photovoltaic system has been awarded the Mannheim Local Green Deal plaque
A special achievement for TIB Chemicals AG: Our photovoltaic system has been awarded the Mannheim Local Green Deal plaque. The award was presented during the reopening of the U-Halle on the Spinelli site in Mannheim on Saturday, May 17, 2025. With the ceremonial presentation of the award by Mannheim’s Mayor Christian Specht, the city recognized our active commitment to climate protection, environmental conservation, and sustainable energy supply.
For us, this award is a special recognition of our ongoing efforts to integrate sustainable solutions into our business processes and to make a positive contribution to the region’s ecological development. The photovoltaic system on our factory grounds is a key component of our sustainability strategy and supports our goal of consistently expanding the use of renewable energy.
Solar power systems play a crucial role in the energy transition. They generate clean electricity from solar energy and help replace fossil fuels. This reduces CO₂ emissions and conserves natural resources. Through our investment in modern solar technology, we are making an important contribution to reducing our environmental footprint and promoting climate-friendly industrial production at our Mannheim site.
The Local Green Deal Mannheim is an initiative of the City of Mannheim that supports companies, institutions, and organizations in implementing concrete measures for climate, nature, and environmental protection. The goal is to engage local stakeholders in sustainable action and to jointly create innovative solutions for a livable and sustainable city. The awarding of the plaque signifies the successful implementation of sustainable projects and highlights the commitment of the participating companies.
Our solar power system is an example of how economic activity and environmental responsibility can be successfully combined. By using solar energy, we generate a portion of our energy needs directly on-site while simultaneously reducing our environmental impact. Furthermore, we strengthen the supply of renewable energy and support regional and national climate protection goals.
The ceremonial presentation of the award at the Spinelli site—a location that itself stands for sustainable urban development and forward-looking projects—underscores the importance of such measures for the entire region. For us, this honor is not only a confirmation of what we have achieved so far but also an incentive to consistently continue our activities in the areas of sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental protection.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the City of Mannheim and all those involved in the Local Green Deal for this special recognition. The award encourages us to continue investing in innovative and sustainable technologies in the future. Together, companies, municipalities, and citizens can make an important contribution to climate protection and actively shape the transition toward a resource-efficient and sustainable future. The recognition of our photovoltaic system by the Local Green Deal Mannheim demonstrates that sustainable investments not only create environmental benefits but also make an important contribution to the regional energy transition and the responsible use of natural resources.
