Equipment vehicle logistics
A new equipment transport vehicle (GW-L) has been in service at TIB Chemicals AG since early July. With this state-of-the-art vehicle solution, the company is making a targeted investment in the areas of plant firefighting, occupational safety, hazard response, and plant safety. The vehicle combines the functions of a personnel carrier with those of a material transport vehicle, thereby enabling even faster and more efficient support in a variety of operational scenarios.
Whether in the event of a chemical accident, a technical rescue operation, or an emergency situation on the plant premises, the new equipment vehicle ensures that both specially trained personnel and the necessary equipment can reach the scene quickly and easily. This shortens response times and sustainably improves the operational readiness of the plant fire department.
The new equipment trailer accommodates a total of six firefighters as well as six versatile roll-out carts. Thanks to its modular design, the loadout can be individually tailored to the requirements of each specific operation. Standard equipment includes, among other things, emergency decontamination supplies, chemical protection suits, lighting equipment, and a high-performance generator. This equipment enables a rapid response to a wide variety of emergency situations and supports the safe management of hazardous-material incidents.
In addition, the plant fire department has additional roll-out carts and specialized equipment for various tasks. These include fall protection systems, mobile solutions for ventilating buildings and facilities, and special mesh containers for transporting firefighting foam. Thanks to the standardized equipment carts, the necessary materials can be assembled quickly and transported directly to the scene of the incident.
The vehicle’s flexibility will be further expanded in the coming weeks. A technical upgrade is planned so that the equipment truck will not only support operations in the area of chemical and hazardous-material response but will also be able to perform firefighting tasks. This ensures that the plant fire department remains fully operational even if, for example, the rescue and firefighting vehicle is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or repair work.
Safety is a top priority at TIB Chemicals. The acquisition of the new logistics equipment vehicle underscores TIB Chemicals AG’s ongoing commitment to the highest safety standards at the site. Modern response technology, well-trained emergency personnel, and an effective plant fire department are essential components of a comprehensive safety concept. With the new vehicle, TIB Chemicals is improving its readiness to respond to chemical accidents, technical emergencies, and fire incidents, thereby making an important contribution to the protection of employees, facilities, and the environment.
